Heehee, this was zoomed in when I clicked on it, so I didn't see the bottom panel at first, and I was like "Cosette's gown is so gorgeous! The shading is beautiful and I love the veil! Their hair is so fantasti - WOW, MRS. THENARDIER'S DRESS IS GARISH. O_O"
Turn your face away from the garish light of Mrs. Thenardier's dress.
I haven't seen the ending of any version of the musical, I've only heard the CD, so I really don't know much about the characters' designs, but I think they look great! Did you come up with it on your own or is the design from one of the versions of the musical? Either way, even though the colors are abruptly bright, it fits the prompt and the shading is excellent! I love the backgrounds people too. They don't stand out too much, but they still fill the space nicely. The floor looks great too. I don't think I'd have the patience for those kinds of details. I still think Cosette's gown might be my favorite part, though. It's so pretty!
Turn your thoughts away from bold, flambouyant, bright...."
Sort of half and half... I stole the faces from the 25th anniversary characters, because I really loved how they were portrayed in it. (Well, I was only so-so about Marius, but the others...) And then I looked at a bunch of references for the costumes and kinda combined them all. ^^
I love how you just continued that with no problem at all. Well played!
Oh yeah, I thought the 25th Anniversary ones were pretty cool as well. But... yeah... Marius... Can't say I cared for him. I liked the 25th Valjean too. I mean, I don't think anyone can replace Colm Wilkinson's voice in my mind, but I liked the face they got for him in the 25th. That's really cool, though! Was it hard to combine them all?
That's exactly what I was thinking! Now, I really have no opinion on the Jonas Brothers in general, but they're all more accustomed to a completely different style of music too. I just didn't feel like it was suited to him. I mean, people in this kind of music do need a lot of lung power and stage presence, like you said, and a LOT of diaphragm support. I just didn't feel like it was a good fit.
